Universal Music Group has released a Spanish version of Brenda Lee’s classic holiday hit, “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree,” created with the help of artificial intelligence (AI). Titled “Noche Buena y Navidad,” the new rendition features a Spanish-language vocal generated by SoundLab’s AI MicDrop tool, while retaining the original music and background vocals from the iconic song. Grammy winner Aureo Baqueiro produced the track, which received Lee’s approval.
The innovative use of responsibly-trained AI technology allowed for the transformation of Lee’s lead vocals into a Spanish rendition, giving the impression that the singer herself recorded the song in her youth. Lee expressed her excitement about the release, stating that she had always wanted to record “Rockin'” in Spanish and was thrilled to introduce the song to fans in this new way.
Last year, Lee’s timeless Christmas tune, originally released 66 years ago, reached the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The Spanish version, “Noche Buena y Navidad (Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree),” is now available for listeners to enjoy.
