Usage of artificial intelligence (AI) tools for work continues to rise, with OpenAI’s ChatGPT emerging as the most popular choice among employees. According to Similarweb website traffic data collected by FlexOS, ChatGPT witnessed a significant increase in usage, soaring from 1.8 billion site visits in April to a staggering 3.1 billion in May.
FlexOS’s data reveals the top 10 AI tools being utilized for work globally. In the tenth spot is ElevenLabs, which offers AI audio models capable of generating speech, voices, and sound effects in 29 languages. The company’s models have found applications in audio books, video game characters, and assisting individuals with accessibility needs. ElevenLabs experienced growth from April to June, as per Similarweb.
At number nine is Poe, developed by question-and-answer website Quora. Poe allows users to access various AI tools, including ChatGPT and Claude, within a single platform. Quora witnessed an increase in site visits from March to May, according to Similarweb.
Claude, an AI assistant built for work by Anthropic, secured the eighth position. Anthropic claims that Claude is trained to be safe, accurate, and secure. Similarweb data indicates growth in Claude’s usage from March to May.
GitHub Copilot, an AI tool designed for software developers, claimed the seventh spot. It emerged as the most popular AI tool for developers in May, as reported by FlexOS.
Suno, an AI audio generator, secured the sixth position. Suno, along with another AI music startup called Udio, faced allegations of using work from artists without consent. Major music labels such as Universal Music Group (UMG), Sony Music Entertainment, and Warner Records were involved in the controversy.
Perplexity AI, an alternative to traditional search engines, claimed the fifth spot. The startup aims to challenge Google’s dominance in the search engine market.
QuillBot, an AI tool assisting with professional writing, ranked fourth. Similarweb data indicates an increase in site visits for QuillBot in June.
Google Gemini, Google’s AI tool and ChatGPT’s closest competitor, secured the third position. Gemini captured 11% of the traffic in the language model (LLM) category in May, with nearly 419 million visits.
The Canva AI Suite, featuring image, video, and presentation generators, claimed the second spot in the image generator and editor category.
Topping the list is OpenAI’s ChatGPT, which garnered 3.1 billion site visits in May. FlexOS noted that OpenAI transitioned ChatGPT from its original subdomain to a new domain in May, redirecting traffic since March. While the United States remains the largest market for ChatGPT, India, Indonesia, and Brazil emerged as the top countries for its usage.
