Fans of Justin Bieber have recently brought attention to an unverified song that supposedly mentions parties associated with Sean “Diddy” Combs, following the latter’s recent charges of sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution. Combs, 54, has denied these charges. The track, which resurfaced online last weekend, features lyrics that read, “Lost myself at a Diddy party / Didn’t know that’s how it goes / I was in it for a new Ferrari / But it cost me way more than my soul.” However, there is no concrete evidence to confirm the authenticity of the song. It has not been released on any streaming platforms, acknowledged by Bieber’s official channels, or listed in his official catalog.
Speculation has arisen among listeners that the muffled vocals and lack of emotion in the song suggest it may have been generated using artificial intelligence. However, NBC News has not independently verified whether the audio is AI-generated. Representatives for Bieber have not yet responded to requests for comment.
The song gained popularity as the background sound in numerous TikTok videos and garnered tens of millions of views. It initially circulated in April amid a series of sexual assault accusations against Combs. Fans of Bieber have since scrutinized his relationship with Combs, with concerns about their dynamic being expressed through the song. Additionally, old clips of Combs spending time with a teenage Bieber have resurfaced.
Bieber has not publicly addressed the accusations against Combs, nor has he made any allegations of his own. In November, Combs’ former girlfriend Cassie filed a civil lawsuit accusing him of sexual and physical assault during their relationship. Initially denying the accusations, Combs’ lawyer, the lawsuit was eventually settled out of court. However, this year, Combs issued a public apology after security footage showing him assaulting Cassie in 2016 was released. Subsequently, multiple lawsuits have been filed against him, alleging sexual harassment, sexual assault, and sex trafficking. The most recent lawsuit, filed on Tuesday, claims that Combs and his bodyguard “viciously” raped a woman in a New York City recording studio over 20 years ago, after allegedly drugging her.
